The School has been established in the year 1972 with a group of few pioneers who selflessly contributed their best to see this institution fully decorated as it is seen today. Gradually SABAK as an association felt the need of taking it up on its shoulder to sharpen and more equipped with modern facilities in order to provide the best education to the younger generation. In 2006 the school has been upgraded to High School Level and hoping to make this institution a Higher Secondary level as early as possible.
BRIEF HISTORICITY OF THE INSTITUTION
PRE AND POST OWNED
As we looked back to half a century years back, there was no institution as such as we have proudly owned today. Everything seems in a random and in a primitive looks. Before the separation of SABAK association from SABAK, an institution called Bible School was established at Pughoboto Town. The institution has successfully functioned for few years however, due to shortage of teachers it was non-functional completely. During that period of time, a person by the name Shiqheto Zhimo of Ighanumi village who resides at Pughoboto Town has made up his mind to run an institution in the town. However, his decision was not the continuity of the Bible School rather he decided to establish a new secular English School by naming it as Christian English School. He invested all his best owned resources and successfully ventured out his mind-project in the town as we are known today as SABAK Mission School Pughoboto.
The following people constitute the board members of the school during its initial year:
- Mr. Xukiye
- Lt. Vishena
- Lt. Shiqhevi
- Lt. Tohovi
- Mr. Inaje
- Lt. Shiqheto
During the initial year of the School, it could hardly manage the expenses and salary of the teachers so these board members donated Rs. 35/- each for maintaining the salary of the teachers. Later, in the mid of 1973, the board handed over complete charge to Lt. Shiqheto though their support was extended towards the maintenance of the School.
In due course of time, the SABAK Executive Council was in-plan to establish an English School in its own Mission compound at Pughoboto. The council has resolved to begin by running from Classes A-2. During its formative stage, the following members were nominated by the council as School Managing Board without any fix time duration. The Members were:
- Lt. Rev. Sukhalu Shohe Executive Secretary of Ghokimi
- Mr. Qheghoto Chairman SABAK Council of Mudutsughomi
- Mr. Inaje Swu Executive Council member of Lazami
- Lt. Mr. Hevuxu Chishi Executive Council member of Ghathashi
- Mr. P. Pukhashe Shohe Executive Council member of Hebolimi
During that time Lt. Mr. Shiqheto Zhimo approached SABAK Executive Council’s nominated members to re-own his running School (which was established during leadership of Mr. Nihevi Chishi as SIS at Pughoboto Block). Therefore, the nominated members brought the matter to the Executive Council’s table for further Executive decision.
On 27th of January 1990 the SABAK Executive had an emergency meeting and decided to purchase both site and properties ore-owned by the Lt. Mr. Zhimo by paying Rupees 2,06,500 (Rupees Two Lakhs, Six thousand and five hundred) on 05th February 1990, however an agreed amount clearance took completely three years.
The School being in its initial stage face many financial crisis; it was during one of those hard times that under the initiative of Mrs. Vitoli Swu, the problem of the school was brought to the table before the SABAK Women standing Committee where they resolved to sponsored the salary of the Teacher-in-charge of the school.
NEW DECISION HAS BEEN INITIALLY TAKEN AFTER SABAK OWNED:
- Classes were running from Class A-8
- Rs 20/- were limited as monthly fees
- One student was allowed to free school for those parents who sends three children
- Few amount out of monthly fees were considered from the full time church employees children
- Scriptural teachers shall be employed from the theologian’s community.
